Tree service in Sedona, AZ

Sedona's trees grow in a setting people travel from around the world to see, and that shapes almost every job. Alligator and Utah juniper, pinyon pine, Arizona cypress and scrub oak fill the lots of West Sedona and the Village of Oak Creek, with sycamores and cottonwoods along Oak Creek. The work is about keeping those trees healthy, keeping the red rock views open, and keeping fire away from homes in very fire-prone country.

Sedona straddles two counties. West Sedona and the Village of Oak Creek are on the Yavapai side, while Uptown and the canyon are in Coconino. Calls from both are welcome; just tell us your neighborhood.

Fire safety on Sedona's slopes

Sedona sits in high-risk wildfire country, with dense juniper and pinyon on steep, rocky lots and many homes built into the slope. The Sedona Fire District promotes defensible space, and most clearing here focuses on removing junipers and brush near homes, lifting lower limbs, and clearing needles and debris off roofs and out of gutters.

Steep slopes mean more hand work and careful rigging. Brush often has to be carried uphill to a chipper parked on the street, which is worth knowing when you compare quotes.

Views, access and red rock lots

Many Sedona homes were sited for the view, and over the years the junipers and cypress grow into it. View pruning, windowing and crown raising open the sight lines without topping, and on many lots the same visit can take care of fire clearing.

Narrow streets, steep drives and the traffic on Highway 89A and Highway 179 shape scheduling, and some Sedona neighborhoods have tight rules about tree removal and landscaping. Check with your HOA, and with the city for larger projects, before major removals.
